NYC Stuff

Daniel Bouloud is opening ANOTHER restaurant in two weeks this one on the lower east side. DBGB will be serving more casual fare than some of his other establishments - can't wait to check it out, will be waiting for the reviews!

Party at MOMA

Big party with even BIGGER stars at the Costume Institute Gala at MOMA.  Madonna (in Vuitton), Posh (in Marc Jacobs), the Michelle twins, Anne Hathaway, etc., plus LOTS of models, including Gisele (in Versace) and feat. Tom Brady, Heidi (in J. Mendel), Kate, and Tyra (sigh - does she still count as a model, or is she just a smut-monger now?).  So beautiful.

The Black and White

Being a huge fan of the Black and White Cookie (and unfortunately not a NYC resident), I've had to start looking for an alternative to going without, while I'm trapped in my real world.  With SO MANY recipes out there to try, I've used a different one each time I've attempted them, ditching the ones that aren't quite right.  So far, the ones from www.nytimes.com are the best (big surprise), and I make them REALLY big, just like the ones you get in the city, so the batter doesn't usually stretch as far as 24 cookies.
